Pupil Voice, Class Meetings and Democratic Participation

We believe that every child should feel heard, valued and empowered to make a difference. Through our weekly Class Meetings, pupils have regular opportunities to discuss issues that matter to them, celebrate successes, share ideas and contribute to school improvement.

Class Meetings provide a safe and supportive environment where pupils can:

• Share their views and opinions
• Discuss wellbeing and relationships
• Celebrate achievements
• Raise concerns and suggest improvements
• Learn to compromise and solve problems collaboratively
• Develop confidence in speaking and listening

These meetings help children understand that their voice matters and that they have an important role in shaping their school community. Ideas generated during Class Meetings often inform the work of the School Council and wider school developments, giving pupils meaningful opportunities to influence decision-making.

By encouraging active participation, we help pupils develop the confidence, responsibility and communication skills needed to become active citizens in modern Britain.
